Automobile car air condition temperature adjustment doesn't work?

2005 Buick LeSabre's air condition temperature adjustment doesn't work. It is a slide-type control (from cold to hot). Now is only is on cold even though the slide control is moved to a different temperature. If vent or heat settings are on, the air temp still remains the same (no warming or heat). Air conditioning works great but it stays at its coolest setting.
