Is it legal for a manager to keep the tip left by a customer off of a comped check?

Last night the manager at my restaurant comped a $250.00 bill because the customers husband had ped away the night before and their food took one hour. It was an extremely busy night and they were prewarned that the food would take awhile. The table felt bad for the server and left her $20 in cash and then purchased a soda so that they could leaver her another $20 on a credit card. The manager made her give him the $40 tip because he said the restaurant should get the tip since the bill was comped. When the paper work was being done at the end of the night the manager lied to the person who did it and told him that it's only right that he keep s the $40 tip since he had to comp a $450 bill (I saw that the bill was only 250) but that is not the point, the point is that the manager made the server pay for part of the comped check. It doesn;t matter where the money came from, she still had to pay out of her own money. Is this legal? I really do not think that it is, but I am still wondering. THis situation is bothering me deeply... Please only answer if you really can offer some istance. I know this situation is screwed up. Thanks for your time in advance...

At my wits end with CPS. Needing advice. Anyone been through this?

Okay, so long story short, here's what happened: On July 20th my husband and I had a miscommunication that led to CPS interferring in our life. He had come home from work and was in the shower. I told him over the shower that my friend was coming to pick me up and I'd be home in a few hours. I locked the door and left. A couple of hours later, I turned on my nearly dead phone and only had time to check one message before it died - my sister telling me to go to the house, somethings happened. So my friend rushes me home and there are cops there. I run over asking what happened. My husband had not heard what I said. He thought I was in the back room (my jeep was outside since my friend had come to get me and I usually take the jeep if I go anywhere) and he had left the house to run an errand, he said he opened the garage door and yelled to me (a me that wasn't there) that he'd be back in a little while. Somehow, when he was getting things out of the car, our three year old got outside. My husband didn't see him. Our neighbor found him outside crying and rather than waiting to see what the situation was, she immediately called the cops who called CPS. (this neighbor, by the way, never has liked us - it was a prime opportunity for her.) Anyway, when we figured out how careless we'd apparently been, we were devestated at the what ifs of everything and relieved that he was okay. We understood why they asked us to voluntarily place our two children out of the home while they conducted an investigation. They gave us a drug test which both came back fine but mine came back showing alcohol so then they kept our kids away longer because of that. I never understood that because I told her upfront I drink on occion but never around my boys. It has been almost two months since we've had our children here and my husband and I are both feeling so sad over this. We made one mistake. We would never intentionally harm them or put them in harms way EVER. We love them more than anything in the entire world. They are our life. They are the reason my husband works full time and goes to school at night and the reason I'm taking 21 hours in college right now. I call the CPS office constantly with no rarely returned calls. No one updates me on the case. The only time we were updated was when we found out that the detective decided to charge my husband with 2 counts of felony child endangerment, which he went to jail for, and if convicted, he'll never be able to get a biomedical engineering degree. I'd be the sole source of income for the rest of our lives (oil feild companies won't even hire felons) all over ONE one-time, never-before, never-again mistake! He's the best father. Anyone who knows us knows that. But the CPS people never talked to anyone except the people (like our neighbor) who hardly know us at all. We have no reliable family in our town so our boys are 500 miles away in my husband's mother's care, and we're going to see them when we can afford to or our schedules let us, and calling them everynight, sending them cards... but it's just not the same. I cannot explain how many times their empty rooms have caused me to break down into an avalanche of tears. I feel helpless. So does my husband. We're just a number in the system now... nothing more. Our family, our world, has been torn apart and nobody seems to care. No one seems to be doing anything to reunite us. They haven't even come out to our house to look around or interview us... nothing. One phone call once since this all started from my caseworker - that's it! I call and leave messages twice a week at least. I go up there to the office once a week. I've asked to speak to her supervisor and been given the run around - first it's because she isn't in. Then it's a different supervisor who isn't up on my case and cannot advise. Then it's something else. Everywhere I turn it's a dead end. What should we do? What can we do? We just want our babies back... we just want our family back. We are good parents... and our kids are the reason we breathe! Please... any advice would be wonderful... thank you.....

I have a cold water aquarium with 5 goldfish in. They bred but only three babies survived. They are now about 1 inch long (6 months old), but one is showing a very bloated stomach, no pine cone effect, but more like a bag of marbles, bloated but also localised bulging. I have recently started college and because of studies I have pretty much lost my exorcise habits. Because of this I have gained a little weight but my face is reflecting are larger body. I got a symmetrical hair cut for my wavy hair. I also got it layered pretty short. The shortest layer ends in the middle of my cheek. It did make my hair wavier, but it helped with the "poof." Never sleep with wet hair. You can get sick that way.... And try to stay away from combs and brushes. Use a wide toothed comb if you have to. Your fingers work best for brushing. My parents make big unhealthy meals for dinner but i wanna lose weight?

for dinner to night we had enchiladas with tons of chees so i know there un healthy. i dont want to go over 1800 calories preferably 1600. im not fat i dont need to lose weight but i want to bring my body fat down so i can see my abs. im 16 5,7 130 and max bench 145. i can eat whatever i want for breakfast and lunch but dinner i eat what my mom makes. so for breakfast i have a small bowl of cereal and some veggies for a snack i have a 170 cal snck bar and lunch a wheat bread sandwich and a V8.then another 200 cal snack after school putting me at about 1000 calories i have no problem staying under 1800 cuz rarely i eat 800 calories for dinner but its normally more than my breakfast and lunch combined! i know your suppose to have your biggest meal in the morning and i think having half of my days food for dinner is unhealthy but what should i do. (my parents are not verry understanding btw)

Husbands one night stand child?

When I met my husband he had a son that just turned 4. He also told me about a girl he had a one night stand with and that she was pregnant with his kid. (He did not tell me until we were at least a month into the relationship). This girl was his neighbor and was obsessed with him because her roommate was gf and bf with my husband's roommate. The girl he got pregnant would bring over liquor and beer and feeding it to my husband and then wait till he was completely drunk. (Apparently this happened about 10 times) He never slept with her unless he was drunk. She convinced him to not wear a condom because she could not get pregnant (well that is what she told him). The last time they had she purposely held him in and well she got pregnant. She told my husband he should move in with her and he told her he did not want the kid, he would pay for an abortion or she should give it up for adoption. She refused and after several months of her breaking into his house in the middle of the night, telling all his friends that they were so happy because they were having a child together, she finally moved away. But in the meantime, she went to my husbands family and made them a part of the baby's life even though my husband told them he didn't want anything to do with the baby. The girl got his soc sec# from his mom and pulled his credit four times at her place of employment, (could not do anything about it). ORS gave her our address and still does, she has people come to our place and hares us and moves around to where we live, she has done this 4 times. So my husband has to pay $224.00 a mth, which we don't have and he refuses to have this little girl in his life (she is 4 now). Any suggestion or thoughts on this story would help. I hate the situation.

Severe Pain / Ache in right Shoulder!?

Last night I woke up with an aching in my shoulder that was pretty unbearable. I had to get up, and eventually managed to get back to sleep through a combination of applying heat to it, taking painkillers, and also being very very tired. The pain was centred in the shoulder and constant, although was occaisionally spreading down to my forearm or up into my neck. Presumably I managed to pull or tear something whilst sleeping awkwardly. I still had the normal amount of movement in my arm, it didnt feel stiff or anything, but the painw as constant, there was no position I could put myself in that made the pain worse,, or better unfortunately. So now its the morning, and my arm doesnt hurt anymore. But, last night while I was browsing the internet trying to find a way to ease the pain, it seemed most sites suggested that this pain would not be a one time thing, and that it would be best to see a GP. Now, I know better than to believe medical advice I read on the internet, but I would like to have the opinion of someone else as to whether or not I should get it looked at. I wouldnt really want to have to sit through that pain again, but my plan for the moment is to see whether it comes back or not and if it does see someone about it. When I googled the symptoms it seemd that the most popular results were either articles on something that I think was called a rotator cuff, or something along those lines, or a crushed nerve. I guess it could also be cramp, but it lasted way longer than I thought cramp could. Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Bought Vehicle(w/ financing), got messed around...?

So, we swapped in our old 1995 vehicle for a brand new 2007 vehicle. Now of coarse there is financing involved as our 1995 vehicle was not the most expensive vehicle. So we got a measly 5,000 for it because my husband said thats all he wanted and the dealership jumped at it. So, moving on. The new vehicle had a worth of $50,000. So $5,000 was knocked off. That leaves $45,000 owing roughly. Husband then started signing papers WITHOUT reading them first. I noticed shortly afterwards when we were driving home in our new vehicle, that our last payment amount would be $12,500... Does this sound right to you?? Ok, im 22 years old and I have 4 accounts open as of now. one is a charge account with an electronic store with a limit of 10,000 that was opened around a year and a half ago. I bought around 6,500 of tvs on it and paid them off within a year. The account is still open but not used. I have an auto loan that i opened around 10 months ago for 12,100 and still owe 7,600. I have 2 credit cards. i opened a capital one account around 8 months ago with a limit of 500 and then raised to 750. i got a green amex around 2 months ago then was upgraded to a platinum($450 annual fee) within 2 months of having the account. my experian score is 736 and transunion is 710. My problem is i need more credit on the capital one card and have called to ask for a CLI and was denied. i currently have 7 inquries with experien in the last 2 years with only 2 being in the las 6 months. i have only 4 inquries with transunion. Should I apply for another card with a higher limit or should i wait a little longer for some of the inquries to dissapear from my credit report? I am confident that i can get a better card(non amex) with a more generous limit. I max out the capital one every month almost. I need more credit with either mastercard or visa because amex is not accepted everywhere. I have never had a late payment ever. Any suggestions?

My BM Hunter and Enhancement Shaman pretty much are my choices. Hunter with beatial wrath = No fear = Win . Enhancement Shaman = tremor totem + Grounding totem= most of the time win. The only cl i have a problem with is Rogues. But it just depends on your playing skill as well, If you know how to PvP then you shouldnt have that much of a problem.

Could someone please explain the Trinity?

I never could wrap my mind around the Christian doctrine of the Trinity. Is there one God, or are there three? Are Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit all the same person wearing different hats, or do they have personhood seperate from one another? And if they do have seperate personhood, then how is it that they are all God and there is only one God? This paradox has always confused me. Is there Scriptural support for this doctrine? Okay so i have had acne for about 4-5'ish years now. I recently got a dermatologist(about a year ago). My acne consists some whiteheads and blackheads but mainly just regular zits around my cheeks, chin, and sometimes my forehead. I have used just about everything over the counter (clinique, neutrogena, proactiv, clean and clear, biore, acnefree, just about everything) So my derm put me on differin and doxycycline(also using proacitv) and with about 2-3 months i had perfectly clear skin. When my doxy ran out it took about 2 months for my skin to return to the previous state. My derm decided to put me on a second round of doxy, but instead of differin, she had me altering between duac and atralin but only using the cerave cleanser and mositurizer. This has completly ruined my skin and i want to just try something new but my apointment is so far away. Just wondering if there's any opinions on the Laszlo skin line? Or if anyone knows a winning combination of the topicals i have now?

Stator plate wiring points condenser Yamaha TS125?

Im going to restore this little trials bike and want to get it running befor i start. How ever the previous owner removed the coils from the stator plate and had them rewound. IGNITION COIL the wire from this connects to the condenser and then a wire from condenser to the points? LIGHTING/CHARGING COIL this has 3 wires. There are 4 wires going into the stator housing from the wiring loom do 3 of these go to the 3 of the lighting coil? If so the last wire is the ignition wire where on the stator plate dose it connect?

Based off the specs it is a pretty good laptop, GPU is a bit weak (not much memory on board), but still looks nice. It also depends on what you are going to be doing with it. This one sounds like it will be great for mobility and some moderate power, but if you want something more powerful look into something with an i7 or core 2 quad. How to get rid of minor breakouts (a few pimples)?

I can't use anything too harsh because I don't have acne but I have minor breakouts which is a few pimples here and there. Your motherboard is a MSI MS-7184 made for HP & does have a PCI-E slot for a PCI-E 16X video card. You did not list what model the HP was so I dont know how many watts/amps you power suppy has but if your going to be buying a good video card you might need to upgrade the power supply. The VRAM on your new video card does not need to be the same as your PCs systems RAM. So even if your PC uses DDR2 & the video card uses GDDR3 its fine, no problems. Make sure your power supply has the watts/amps & PCI-E connectors(6 pin, 8 pin or both) to run the card is the most important thing to have right.

Error 6 on ipod touch?

I updated my ipod touch and it crashed it. It worked perfectly fine before but now it won't even turn on :( I tried restoring it but just as the little bar on my ipod touch below the apple icon gets to the very end, it says error 6 and won't work. She would be gone mostly for 3 weeks at a time and sometimes she was gone for a month or two. We lived in a apartment building on the same floor as my grandmother. She treated her my oldest sister and her children lovingly. Giving her and her children what she cooked that day and what did not burn. Growing up I was told. Trust no one, keep no friends, don't tell about the bad stuff and if I had to talk. Tell them because family would keep it in the family. Which meant we would talk about you but that's okay. There was a lot of physical and verbal fights and anger. My family members compete with each other and believe a persons value is determined by how much he or she has. Then said she would turn my dead body over to the city to bury in a unmarked grave.) Later that day she tried to make me carry a 20" t.v. From one end of the house to the other knowing I am pregnant. She called all my friends parents telling them keep there daughters away from me because I'm a bad influence and a bi*ch. I was told I didn't deserve a room that night and had to sleep on the hallway floor. Before I feel asleep I over heard my oldest sister tell my mom, "when you take her to have the abortion don't let them give her any anesthesia so she can feel the pain." Until I the doctor said I would have to have the abortion that day or I would have to go to the hospital. Thank God she didn't bring enough money. I ran away the next day.
